The UK’s nightlife is a cornerstone of our communities, offering vibrant experiences and cherished memories. Yet, as times change, so do the challenges - and the opportunities to innovate and grow.

In 2022, while studying for my master’s degree at De Montfort University, I witnessed both the joys and the challenges of nightlife. Concerns about safety, like drink-spiking and late-night incidents, had many students rethinking their plans for nights out. These issues sparked conversations about what we value most: safe, exciting, and inclusive spaces to unwind and connect after a long, hard day or week.

I realised that many of us wanted to explore new venues but didn’t always know where to look. Some venues excelled at offering great deals and safe environments, but others struggled to meet these needs due to the pressures of operating in a competitive market.
