PROVIDING SUPPORT TO ANYONE FEELING
VULNERABLE OR AT RISK
What is Ask for Angela?
Ask for Angela is a nationally recognised safeguarding initiative that helps venues support customers who feel unsafe, harassed, or vulnerable. The campaign encourages individuals to discreetly ask venue staff for help and support by asking to speak to Angela.
Staff should react to this request by taking the customer away from the area and somewhere safe, before asking how they can help (eg. calling a cab, calling for security, or the police).

How can it help your business?
The Ask for Angela code phrase alerts staff to step in and offer support - whether that’s calling a taxi, separating someone from a situation, or involving security. The key priority for staff is supporting and protecting the distressed customer at all costs. By introducing Ask for Angela in your venue, you are setting up a foundation of support for not only your customers, but also your staff.
1. Equips staff to confidently handle harassment or distress.
2. Provides visible reassurance to customers through posters and signage
3. Helps venues meet national and local licensing requirements
4. Encourages positive relationships with local police, councils, and customers
